Butter Dish, French

Have you used a French Butter Dish?  This simple yet ingenious design allows you to have soft butter at room tempurature while keeping it fresh.   

The two part dish has a cup as the lid (fill this with butter) and bowl to put an inch of water. When the butter is submerged in the water, it creates an airtight seal, protecting the butter.  While the design is French, this dish is Canadian made, handcrafted in Mississauga, ON.

Wayne's pottery is a wonderful combination of enthusiastic glaze combinations and sturdy, highly functional forms. His life experience as a potter is clearly evident in this well-made dish.

Approx. 4 3/4” base diameter by 5 1/2” to the top of the handle. 2 3/4” inside diameter.
Microwave and dishwasher safe, though hand wash recommended.
