Jay Burn Pottery
Jay Burn graduated from Sheridan College in 1995 and immediately established his own pottery studio in Stratford, Ontario. He is best known for his mastery of the distinctive crystalline glazing technique. This is a process where the zinc-bearing glaze changes during firing, developing beautiful crystal forms resembling frost blooms. With this type of glaze, the kiln temperature must be carefully controlled to allow the crystals to develop. This slow, complex process results in one-of-a-kind pieces – no two works will ever be the same!
Jay's platters are microwave and dishwasher safe. However, hand washing helps to prolong the beauty of handmade pottery. These pieces are not oven safe. We recommend that you avoid extreme temperature changes, and that you use non abrasive cloths for cleaning.
