Steven McGovney has been professionally making art for over 40 years, and unprofessionally since childhood. "Unfit for any other kind of work", he received his MFA from Otis Art Institute in 1973 and has been showing in galleries nation-wide ever since.
His ceramic work is in several national collections, and he teaches at the college level and gives workshops nationally. The Avicularity line of bird sculptures is created using mixed media including: clay, steel, acrylic and oil paint.
Steven continues to create in San Diego, California.
