Triple Abstract Enamel Earrings
Tim calls his enamel jewellery 'contemporary Primitivism'. We also see the playful randomness in this design that makes it super-wearable. The handcrafted nature of these earrings is particularly shown in this not-quite-matching pair, each element a unique work of enamel art.
The artist hand-cuts the intricate copper backings for this lightweight earring, then fires glass powder on each piece to achieve the desired soft speckled colouring. The earring parts have been hammered to a slight cove form, with a dark, oxidized copper back. Texture pressed into the copper adds more interest. The top portion is secured with a sterling silver stud post while the bottom swings free.
