This frame is almost pretty enough on it's own, without adding a photo, but it has been designed to hold a 4" x 6" picture behind a piece of glass.  The frame itself has been made with traditional stained glass technique...in a non-traditional way, sandwiching fabric between two pieces of glass.  If that isn't complicated enough, Christine also does her own indigo dying on 100% flax linen fabric to create this frame.  The sturdy folding easel leg supports the frame, allowing for a vertical or horizontal picture.  It packs flat for transport.

Kumo Shibori is created by pleating and binding fabric. The cloth is gathered and held together tightly by twisting string along the pleats. The end result is a very intricate looking "spider web" pattern. Given the nature of hand dyeing no two pieces are alike, the Japanese term for this is "aji" which translates to "flavor" or little differences.

To the outermost edges, the frame measures approx. 6 1/8" x 8 1/8"
